Amazon.co.uk Review
If you have so far resisted the draw of people-management game, The Sims, then this deluxe pack might just swing the scales. The Sims allows you to create, direct and manage the lives of SimCity's residents. Each need (e.g., Hunger, Comfort, Hygiene) can be met by interacting with other Sims or objects--throw a party with the help of a rocking stereo system, and watch your Sims' Social and Fun ratings improve. One gameplay goal is to improve your Sim so he or she can climb the career ladder, which nets him or her more money, which allows the purchase of higher quality stuff. Eventually, your Sim will have a mate, kids and a mansion with an indoor pool.
Livin it Up: Whether you're the occasional Sims player or one of the die-hard fan who's seen the one-hundred-hours congratulation message, The Sims--Livin' It Up expansion pack will rekindle any flame starting to go out for this game.
The Sims--Livin' It Up expansion pack has more swings and bells on it than a Christmas tree in a castle, and of course in true Sims style all this is possible. The range of new gadgets and gizmos to play with is just as impressive--and if you are an avid Web fan then you will notice some of the downloads here, especially the gerbil and balloons--but Maxis have realised this and have been busy creating many other features.
New career paths with over 50 jobs have now been included. Become a psychic investigator or a musician, a slacker or a journalist, and they all come with new toys to play with at home. If this isn't enough, the game also includes new neighbourhoods to try out if you've run out of space in the current one, although the only drawback is that you can't move from neighbourhood to neighbourhood.
The Sims--Livin It Up is a great addition to the original, having you completely hooked again in no time, and saving up for those ever elusive expensive items, in this case the automatic robot maid. --Stuart Miles

A good starter pack.Review date: 2009-09-10 Rating: 10 out of 10If you are a big sims fanatic, then this is the game for you. You don't need to purchase the original sims because when you buy this you get the original sims game plus a expantion pack and a special programme called the sims creator which lets you create and even paint your sims in 3d! This is also a good starter pack if you are a beginner as it commes with a bassic and simple structured guide and a small install guide to get you started. Overall a very good game for beginners or collectors. This game is hugely availble in the US.GOOD GAME BUT FEW WARNINGS!Review date: 2006-06-18 Rating: 8 out of 10This is a really good game and it's really fun. Here are a few warnings though:
1. Me and my friend both have sims deluxe and we installed the same extention pack. But then she had to give it to her cousins and we had to uninstalled it. Now the game won't work.
2. You have to intall the extention packs in a certain order! I don't know what order though, Sorry! My friend did it in the wrong order and it won't work.
3. My friends started to work but crashes from time to time and now has 8 villages!!!Sims DeluxeReview date: 2005-09-21 Rating: 8 out of 10I bought this game thinking it would be like the average computer game but i was in for a shock. The Sims Deluxe Edition is possibly one of the best computer game ever to be created. What's more, not only do you get the original Sims and the Livin'it up expansion pack but also the Sims Creator Tool. I can gurantee that you will have fun sticking the heads of your families and friends onto your Sims! Yet the best bit about the Sims is that it NEVER gets boring. You can have luxurious lifestyle with a beautiful wife/husband in a glorius mansion and have a good job or live in a petite house with no friends and a really rubbish job like a 'pickpocket'. The best bit about it is that the Sims reacts to your choices and is always different everytime you start a new game! The only problems with it is that to get all the items is to buy several expansion packs which will cost alot of money!ExcellentReview date: 2004-10-27 Rating: 8 out of 10Sims Deluxe is a great buy, but it is based too much around an american lifestyle, e.g. 'Carpool' and yellow school busses, also like the other reviewer mentioned, it would be great to have a multiplayer mode, or perhaps for you to go round to other Sims' houses, not just inviting others to your house or them coming to you...?
Still, excellent value for money!
